Alcmacon, Empedocles and Hippocrates challenged medical practices back during their time which are based on superstitious and magic. Hippocrates against the idea that illnesses are related to the supernatural and actually has their own natural causes.
Alcmacon was among the first (as stressed by the author) to dissect human bodies?!!!

gosh, really really sick of it.. pity that they live in ancient times of darkness from true "light of life"....
